2. Kolata argues that people really do not have much control over being fat. Do you agree with this contention? Explain what the MIT obesity researcher meant when he said, "I am a fat man in a thin man's body."
I am agree with the argument of Kolata because fat people maybe is fat because they have a disease, a big problem with their health instead of having bat habits with diets. That is why the MIT says "I am a fat man in a thin man's body", they want to express that you can be a healthy person inside of your body eating healthy food but it is too difficult lose weight for your appearance. Consequently of that, your are a fat person no matter you did to be in good shape. Other reason why I am agree with that thinking, it is because fat people also have fat gene and in greater quantity than thin people. Lastly, they have larger appetites and can not lose weight like most of the people think they can.
I agree and disagree with him at the same time. I have a friend who eats fast food every day, but he is very skinny. On the other hand, my brother does not eat a lot of food, but he is a little bit fat. As a result, I think that being fat or not is not our choice. It depends on our genes. In addition, exercising might protect us from being fat.
Kolata’s argument that people really do not have much control over being fat is certainly true for some people. However, I also believe that some people can change their body fat by proper nutrition & exercise. Kolata’s statement that, “I am a fat man in a thin man’s body,” means that although he eats food that should make him obese, due to his family genetics, he remains a thin person. It seems some people are able to eat all the food they want and never get fat, while other people eating the same food do get fat.
I agree with Kolata because she has an evidence of the following statement .she shows some fact according to research that people do not have a choice in this case to control their wight . In some situation ,however ,when young people be aware about their health they can limit the body from obesity . When people discover the problem early , they maybe have a better body shape .
Kolata's argument showed the truth that some people do not know. Sometimes be fat is not a choose, it causes because of genetic. Even thought, we still have to be care of our heath. Obesity may also be acquired lifelong.
I agree that some people don't have the ability to lose weight even if they exercise or follow diet because of their genes. However, some people can lose weight by exercising and changing their lifestyle especially their way of eating! When they get hungry, they can eat fruits or vegetables instead of fatty food.According to MIT obesity researcher who lost weight hardly "I am a fat man in a thin man's body" ,he meant that he looks thin from outside but in fact he is fat from inside because he has obesity genes inside his body!
