The first reason of the shortage is the fact that men who are nurse are stereotyped. In fact, people think that nursing is a women's job so when people see a man as nurse they react strangely. Also, the rate of women that are interested in nursing has dramatically decreased. This lack of interests is due to the fact that women want to have some responsibilities that were often in the past attributed to the men.

As we can see in the article, In summary, the number of men in the world working as nurse have been increasing in a significant way. Many years before, a male nurse (murse) could be a surprise for everybody. However, today some nursing recruiters prefer male nurses than female nurses. In fact male nurses provide instead of the women benefits or even more. In addition, numerous men in the world have been working as nurses since fer years ago. Not only they like to work as nurses but also they have good salary and sometimes if they are specialist in areas such as anesthesiology they could have even more.

Next, he comes up with gender roles in society related to the media. Finally, he talks about the fact that there is a shortage of nurses across the country, while it is a rewarding career both professionally and financially.

Second, the health care industry lures other men by the financial rewards and job stability. According to the article, some health care , for example, offer signing bonuses of up 5,000$, day care, and flexibility hours. However, becoming a nurse is not easy. Bing nurse requires a tow-year associate's degree or bachelor's degree. In addition, nursing is not for the squeamish or those who averse to hard work.

The president of the American Nurses Association, Barbara Blakeney said that the the spoof in NBC's hospital called "Scrubs" could damage nurse-recruitment efforts as a result because the spoof was related to a man nurse. Because of the intensive efforts in the nurse industry, they found Gary Liu. He is a nurse at a New York hospital after work as a patient advocate in the same hospital. Mr. Liu change his profession because of the financial rewards. This industry is looking for men nurses due to lack of professionals nurses. Other reason is because men can be useful by their physical strength to lift patients and move medical equipment.

As we all know, being a doctor isn't easy,like Gary Liu said, he often asked himself why he's not doctor."I don't have to defend myself". Also, it's not a problem about men become nurse because "it's not about gender ,it's about caring" said Thom Schowarz and a nurse requires two years experience about nursing . In addition , men can be useful as nurses because of the physical strength ,that means they can do more work.According to article ,nurse also is challenge,because they have to work long time during a week,that require high patient and ability. The hospital in US, especially in New York also support for nurses to choose their place of employment, their salary. Women in nursing, they can do everything in hospital, moreover they want to have some interests because of their responsibilities so the rate of women has decreased. Like Schowarz said that its not about gender, its about the willing to sacrifice themselves and help people.Thats why nowadays, the rate of the men choose to become nursing is increased.

However, many males believe that being nurse is not about gender but it is about caring for other people. Moreover, nursing is a career that has many advantages. It is one of the careers that provide financial stability and gives many benefits to the nurse such as salary, vacations and free tuition to study and health benefits. Also, nursing career is needed all the time, in the past, present and future , so people who are working as nurses will not be worry that they cant practice their work one day.
