  1. In the Tai Chi listening, the speaker explained her research on this style of martial arts. She focused her explanation in three points: what is it, which benefits and how get to start. However, she was more intense when she described the benefits like stress reduction, such as reducing anxiety and depression. Finally, she made clear that anybody can do it and you can start in social or community center where a qualified tai chi instructor help you to do the movements properly.

  2. On library research, I learned to finally stop using Wikipedia in academic researches. In school, several teachers always said to don't use Wikipedia, and now think I won't use anymore (I hope) except to got an idea of the topic. Besides, I got know ways how to find information. Likewise, with tai chi listening I learned that a travel could makes you a interesting topic for a homework, but it can't help you to find a healthy hobbies to do like tai chi. Before this listening I had heard it, but also i hadn't thinks that it could be so important and i was really wrong. This activity is really important and maybe if I find free time i would think about practice it. I don't have any health problem, however, it should be fun to do and I can prevent any problem in the future.

  3. I have learned from both of these lectures ; however, I will summarize what I learned from " Library Resources" that can help us in our presentation. I utilized how to prepare the presentation in an academic way. First, when we choose the subject, we should determine the key words that will help us in researching about the subject. Second, we can use variety of academic resources that we can find in the library to get valuable information for our presentation, for example, books, videos, computer program, and journals. Even though most students use Wikipedia as a great resource, it isn't an academic resource because its information can be edited and written by anyone. Third, there are 5 types of presentation have to include it. For example, our presentation is about extreme sports. As a result, these five types are: definition __ explain our subject by answering WH questions, compare and contrast __ what are the common differences and similarities between the extreme sports?, process__ choose one sport and explain how to do it, thesis , and then explain the causes and effects of it.

  6. It was an amazing lecture. I really enjoyed listening to this lecture. I've learned many positive steps in how to present my presentation. First, it must be in my speech a source, so who wants more information can return back and get some more information. Second, I have to use academic vocabulary to make my presentation academy. Third, also I have learned how to find journals for my presentation. Fourth, how to start a great introduction and thesis for my presentation, so I can catch the audience's attention. Fifth, focusing on my topic is an important factor. Finally, it is not every website has a true information, so i have to be careful when i look for some resources.

  7. I have learned from Tai Chi's lecture that Tai Chi is not a new form of exercise but it is a traditional exercise which contain a lot of movements. Tai Chi is a routine exercise ; some people practice it daily. Tai Chi has many benefits such as lowing the blood pressure and reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. Also, it improves sleep quality and balance. it is easy to start doing Tai Chi. The first step is to wear a comfortable clothes such as short and t-shirt and to avoid heavy clothes. Then, joining a class to learn how to do the movements and to let the instructor correct them. Once the person knows how to do the movements well, he or she can practice Tai Chi without instructor. Moreover, Tai Chi need less space so people can practice it anywhere. Also, the place should be quit to let people focus on their movements and get benefits from practicing it. Finally, I learned at the end of the lecture that Tai Chi is easy to learn and it is difficult to get bored when people practice it.

She start with introduction which assist her to give the speech about her point (what is the Tai Chi, and How to get started), and the same thing at the end she finished her presentation with promotion (encouragement). What I have from knowledge about presentation lacked in those point. In addition, I learn much enough about Tai Chi. Her speech’s style encouraged me to like this sport. Her focus was to explain the Tai chi meanwhile her speech had the enough impact to get the attention.

  12. The lecture about Tai Chi that I listened last week was really interesting.
It showed me that Tai Chi is a kind of martial art form. It was created many centuries ago in China, which meant it's not a new sport. However, it is now popular, because of many benefits along with those gentle and softly simple movements which don't ask you to be a good athlete to perform. Tai Chi will help people reduce stress by focusing on relaxation and breath, improve balance and sleep quality, and many more advantages.
The lecture also told me that people can get started easily since Tai Chi doesn't need special clothes or equipments. Even so, it's essential that people have an instructor for safely poses so that they don't get injury. Besides, all we need is a small but quiet space.
At the end of the lecture, the women recommended us to give Tai Chi a try. For me, it was an exciting suggestion no matter how hard it is.

  13. About the first listening, I learned that Tai Chi is a kind of martial arts that was used to fight or defend themselves, but know it is use for exercising, mixing the body movement and meditation. Tai chi has a lot of benefits, can be practice for anyone and doesn’t require a big place nor special clothes. Also, you don’t have to memorize each movement because you can find cd’s that teach you how do the art of Tai Chi.
In the listening two, I knew some advises that we heard. When we are doing a research, we have to know which sources are academically acceptable or not because whether you don’t know, you can be wrong about the topic you are researching. There is a procedure to do a research. For example, some of the steps to do a research for a presentation or an essay are definition, compare and contrast, expository, argument, and cause and effect. In each part we have to answer different questions to explain the topic in the best way, clearly, specific and understood.

Unlike the others martial art Tai Chi is a non aggressive .In fact, Tai Chi uses gentle and slow movements that don t affect the muscles and the joints. Even if there is no strong proofs of it impact on health , we can t deny the fact that has numerous of benefits. First , Tai Chi permits reduce stress , lower blood pressure and improve the cardiovascular fitness. Also Tai chi helps to improve balance and endurance. An other advantage of Tai chi is the fact that it does not required any equipment or special clothes and does not need a lot of place to be practiced. Even though it is inoffensive it is important to visit a doctor before beginning especially when you have already get a serious injury or a surgery. You have to begin with an instructor who can correct your postures because in Tai Chi the import is not to reproduce the movement it is to do it correctly.

  16. I learned Talking about Library Resources by listening series processes, the objective of this lecture is to tell us how to get information from a variety of resources in library. I learned Wikipedia is not a good source for a particularly academic article, because the information is quite unstable, sometimes we even get contradictory information. If we do some university academic research, we should get the information from professional journals, or academic books, we should ensure the information resources are stable and reliable.
