So we've had a pretty busy week this week...all the way from library day to fun day! Thanks to all of you who brought snacks today; it was so nice. On behalf of the entire class, let me wish a belated happy birthday to Ahmed and an early happy birthday to Sultan!
For Monday, please read "Fat Chance" in RS. Read the pre-reading questions before the article to get your brain engaged in the topic. After you read, answer the multiple choice questions and be prepared to discuss the discussion questions on Monday. I think you will find this article interesting. It is a good introduction to our topic of health.
You will see that I posted the vocabulary list from our first chapter of RS. Most of the words we covered in class; some of them we did not. They are good words for you to have in your vocabulary recall. You will find most of the words in the vocabulary slides that I posted on the blog for you. Next week (either Wednesday or Thursday), there will be a vocabulary quiz on Leap, chapter 1, and a vocabulary-in-context test too. To practice vocabulary-in-context, I recommend the Townsendpress website I showed you yesterday in the Call Lab.
In addition, you will see that I posted some listening practice for you (I don't want to call it homework because of the negative connotations--homework is bad; practice is good ;) I posted it because I think you will find it interesting. You can listen as many times as you want, of course. I will probably give you similar listening practice to do each week.
