ReplyDeleteThe speaker who name is Michael Specter explains the danger of science denial. In this speech he tries to explain what horrible consequences will have the society if they will deny the evidence of the progress. The willful ignorance is used to use by the governments or some people who are afraid to the progress.
When you receive information about a new technology you should ask for everything: what is it? How does it work? How many benefits does it have? However, when you have proves you should deny the evidences, the truth of science.
The speaker told that there are more people who die because they don’t have any food to eat. Why don’t agree with the technology that helps them? In sometimes the new science works or not but people don’t have to be afraid to the progress. There are ricks but it is necessary if you want the society and the world has a better future.

Micheal specter said,science was process is my favorite . According to the listening , I know how vaccine important ,and it also can answer what we talked about this ,everyone should take vaccine ,for responsibility also for themselves . In addition , he reveal the truth which is people tend to believe why they see and why they think ,but they don't believe information from government or scientists . I think it's crazy ,this idea may kill them or somebody is close to them. Then, he give us some solution for this issue , asking questions,demand proof and evidence . In conclusion , we have to believe science ,because of this ,we can have better life ,better future.

He said people don't want to believe scientific information. They just want to believe what they think such as vaccine, frankenfood. That is people's willful ignorance.
The speaking is Micheal specter. The purpose is warning and the tone is concerned. According to this speaking. Micheal spector said that people have never need progress in science more than we need it right now because we have a great tools and stuff. People afraid science and don’t believe in science anymore. Even they get prove but we don’t accept the proof. Because people scare to involve molecules, hormone and chemical into body .For example, there was mother who does not want her child vaccinate polio vaccine because she think that polio was eradicated. On the other hand, they consume vitamin everyday and spend much money for it even though there is the proof that is rarely help to protect disease. Therefore, if we still ignore the progress in science, in the future we may get stuck to innovate things and the disease might come back again.

ReplyDeleteThe purpose of the listening is to persuade or convince people which in these days are making some mistakes about the food that are using to eat, the vaccines that we are not using now; the hormones, chemicals, or pesticides that are consuming or using in our daily life. Some time ago, people used to feed theirselves with vitamins, proteins, natural food, now one hundred per cent of the food is modify by the man. The tone of the speaker is concerned; he does not understand why people are doing these mistakes.

The speaker advice the audience about what we have to ask, learn about what we are eating or consuming, or about the vaccines that they need. People are ignoring the science, that is why he said science is not a company, a country, or an idea, science is a process in which people have to understand.

He gave the example of vitamins. The US population is hooked on taking daily vitamins even knowing that there is no real benefit engendered. In this example, he also talked about the distrust of institutions raising among societies.People chose to keep taking vitamins even after the skepticism of institutions in the use of vitamins.
the speker worry about the future of the society because We lost faith in people, on the institutions, and some times in scientist too. He has a warning tone. The people believe and trust a miracles, but they don't belive in a scientistic although it had get prove in a process, this is a bad reality people should trust them. The scientist belive in anecdotes not in government papers. The society don't want to progress sometimes, they reproduce behavior and don't want to improve life. The US irradicate the missiles because of the vaccines. Nowadays many people rejected to vaccine their child this people don't want to think about causes and conseguences, vaccines is excential, if you took away serius diseases come back to attack and killing milions of people. We hate things from The commum sense. People are believe in miracles but they criticize scientist proves and evidences . This behavior cause a lot consequences . We object engineering food products. But we eat every day a lot chemical, pesticides and hormonios inside of the food. the industries and government don't want to invest in agriculture, to produce better products to the society health. Ever year we decrise The investiments in agricultural sources. Science is not a Company or gorvernment it is people who dedicate life to save other lifes with new discovers, but The scientistic work is based in a process. Sometimes works sometimes doesn't . Micheal specter wondered about that people do not follow the process of the science. He give us a good example about that people. Also he mention that about the United States is one of the only countries in the world where the vaccine is going down. Nowadays, everybody cares more about personal benefits than other people situation or even live. Highlighting special scientist, Mr. Michel Specter made a very interesting analysis about this situation. Talking with a concern tone (sometimes sarcastic) he tried to persuade his audience about this problem. A really good example is government. Giving a personal example of my country's medicine, there are a lot of opportunities to help people. There are money, good doctors, resources enough to improve medicine; however, government doesn't care about it. They prefer give a few small health centers with doctors which are not prepare enough to help the people. Those health centers sometimes help the people, but they are not prepare to important diseases. Therefore, people die and all government (president, ministers, congress...) have their pockets full of money. Nevertheless, blind people in the country think that it is good even better than hospitals. These people are the example of willful ignorance because they think because government give it free is good or beneficial for the people, but the people don't think about what will happen when they get an important disease. Finally, It's better to think about improve our selves today. We can use the time machine to improve aspects of our lives for the future, but we can't use it to change our past.
